What sets Singburi apart is not just the food — it’s the entire experience. Diners like Mutahir Ali describe the atmosphere as akin to a “small family-run food hut on the side of the road in Bangkok,” where the owner greets guests with warmth and charm. The intimacy of the setting, paired with the authentic flavors reminiscent of Thailand, creates an unforgettable dining experience. Stanley Tsang echoed this sentiment, noting that the spicy level feels true to Asian cuisine, ensuring an exhilarating adventure for the palate.
While enjoying Singburi's delights, keep in mind a few key details. It's a cash-only establishment and they practice BYOB, providing a cozy, casual environment conducive to enjoying a meal with friends. Moreover, getting a table can be a challenge; many recommend visiting in person to secure a booking. But as Kamran Nobari succinctly put it, the effort is well worth it for the extraordinary food.
If you're seeking a culinary adventure characterized by complex flavors that push beyond mainstream Thai notions, Singburi is your destination. With each bite, you're not just eating; you're experiencing the essence of Thailand right in London. Join the enthusiastic throngs of diners who celebrate this flavorful triumph; order from the specials board and let the magic unfold! Your taste buds will thank you.
“ The food was excellent and incredibly flavourful, so it definitely lives up to the hype. I got a booking surpringly very easily over the phone and we came as a group of 4 for the 6pm seating. We ordered most of the specials board like the clams (nice flavour), crispy pork belly (good), tilapia with green mango (one of my favourites), jungle red curry with snapper (nice), stir fried beef curry (super spicy but good), southern curry pork ribs with cashew nuts (really loved the flavour), salted fish rice (great to have with the curries) and we also got the som tum and morning glory off the normal menu. Everything was delicious so stick to the specials board and you can't go wrong. I've already booked for August so I can't wait to go back! ”
“ We heard about this place, and it didn't sound real, 1-year waiting list, apparently, for a family-run Thai restaurant in Leytonstone. Really? So we called up and tried to book, and the lady said nothing for 6 months but to try our luck and wait outside from 6 pm. We had to see for ourselves. So we turned up on Sunday at 5.30, and it was tipping it down and thought there had to be cancellations; lucky for us, 1 table was free from 6.30. The food - having been to Thailand 4 times and reading the reviews I had high expectations. I can say it just felt like you were in a small family-run food hut on the side of the road in Bangkok; the owner was engaging, funny, warm and welcoming. We tried to order everything on the specials menu - everything was just beautiful, authentic and real Thai flavours. Highly recommend to try, price is super reasonable. Just remember they only take cash! Hope to go back again soon. They also do takeaway, which we'll try, but you have to order the day before. They are not on any of the delivery apps. ”
“ Had to wait two months until we had a table to dine in at this place. I'll say it was worth it. Nice Thai restaurant in Leytonstone, not a huge amount of seating, though I think that is good as it brings a level of authenticity and good quality as well. There's a standard menu that you get to choose from rice, curry, noodle, soup, sides/starters and then you'll get a specials menu board which they also upload on their Instagram page. Love that the spicy level matches what you get in Asia, though if you can't handle the spice level you can ask it to be a bit more mild with some dishes i.e. the som tum. Couple of things to be aware of. If you like alcohol it is BYOB or wine and they are lovely they'll provide the glasses and bottle opener. It is cash only, and finally, better if you go and book in person. ”
“ Amazing food. Hard to get a sit. Once sitter recommend getting food from their specials on blackboard. Cash only. ”
“ 2022 update Still my favourite. Simply sublime, every dish tonight - heaven. Please ignore the irrelevant reviews on their service. Silly people looking for silly service from the best Thai in London. It is a total privilege to eat here, the team is warm and genuine. They will serve on their own terms, they are simply that good! ---‐--------------------- Take a bow Singburi. Potentially my best meal in London in 11 years. Flavours were surprisingly complex. Far beyond the typical mainstream Thai notes. Wonderfully balanced. Mad amazing value. Truly a culinary triumph. Go to be inspired. Order from the blackboard ”
“ It is so delicious Thai food. I am Thai. When I miss Thai food, I will go to Singburi. All of food that is real Thai taste. It seems like you are eating in Thailand. In my opinion, this restaurant is the best of Thai restaurant in London.(it is hidden gem). Ps. Please book the table before you go! (I booked for 1 month before)There is no alcohol beverage. You need to bring them if you want to drink. ”
“ Have heard and known about this joint, but it was always quite difficult to book! Lucky to have experienced it with some friends tonight and we mainly tried all their dishes from the specials board. Highly recommend their pork belly, clams, stir fried chicken/prawns/squid, jungle curry and pair them with rice. Authentic Thai with delicious flavours - it’s the type of spice mixed with a level of sourness that makes it moorish. BYOB too. Staff were all so lovely - thank you for such a brilliant and down to earth experience! ”
“ Honestly the best Thai I've had in London and family run small Thai restaurant. Affordable dishes, amazing authentic flavours and wide variety of menu items. Might be hard to get a booking, but you can try your luck with walk-ins if people don't show up for theirs! It was all delicious, but my mouth still salivates thinking about the crab, razor clams and pork! ”
